Rainforest World Music Festival, Kuching Sarawak
Mar 9th, 2010 by sandy
It’s this time of the year that fans of the Rainforest World Music Festival start booking their flight to Sarawak, also the accomodation as it would be fully booked a month near the festival. I was there two years ago and it was hell lot of fun!

Sarawak Rainforest World Music Festival 2009 Review
What most visitors of the festival do not know is the nightly jam sessions at the Santubong Resort poolside until sunrise.”

“The 1st step to RWMF is to secure your flight to Kuching and secure yourself a good place to stay as early as 5 months earlier.”

Why The Rainforest World Music Festival Needs to Change
“When I am at the Rainforest World Music Festival, I feel I am in another country. It’s not Malaysia any more. It’s laidback, it’s international, it’s cool. It’s also open air, no seats (just bring a mat), informal and come-as-you-wish.”
“From those days in 2002 when I could pay less than RM1000 for a 4D/3N at Holiday Inn Damai Beach which included the festival ticket for 3 days, now I have to pay lots more.”

Back from Rainforest World Music Festival!!
We stayed at the Permai Rainforest Resort, which was advertised as a mere 10 minute walk from the Sarawak Cultural Village (where the festival was held) and sneakily enough, it was – from the ENTRANCE of the resort to the cultural village! Getting from the entrance to our cabins was another 15-20mins walk!

Camp Permai look like a really nice place to stay in… I now know why this festival is the best music festival in the world. Everyone is just so friendly and unpretentious.
